Head of Curriculum - Maths

Southwark College, part of NCG, is seeking to appoint an ambitious and experienced Head of Curriculum – Maths to lead and further develop our maths provision for both adult learners and 16–18 study programme students. Based at our central London campus, opposite Southwark Tube station and within walking distance of Waterloo station, this is an exciting opportunity to shape a high-profile curriculum area, lead a committed team, and make a significant impact on learner achievement, progress and progression.

The successful candidate will manage a team of five maths teachers and 2 maths support staff and oversee the quality, performance and development of GCSE Maths and Functional Skills delivery for more than 500 study programme students, alongside an adult maths offer serving approximately 200 learners through daytime and evening classes.

You will be responsible for curriculum planning, staff deployment, timetabling, qualification management and close collaboration with vocational departments to ensure students are well supported to achieve ambitious outcomes. You will also play a central role in improving the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, raising achievement and attendance, and ensuring consistently high standards across the maths provision.

We offer excellent resources and a modern suite of maths classrooms. Our GCSE Maths provision follows the Eduqas specification, while Functional Skills is delivered through Pearson. We are looking for a motivated and effective curriculum leader with a strong track record in maths education, experience of improving learner outcomes, and the ability to develop and inspire staff. This is a one year fixed term contract.
